Who is APCI partnering with?

APCI is partnering with BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama and PrescribeWellness. BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama has identified patients within the APCI network that qualify for one or more of the three disease states: hypertension, diabetes, and cholesterol. PrescribeWellness will track and monitor adherence through the Patient Engagement Center (PEC), as well as track patient encounters through PrescribeCare.

Why is APCI partnering with BCBSAL?

APCI is partnering with BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama to provide network pharmacies opportunities to increase medication adherence, improve population health, and demonstrate the meaningful outcomes our pharmacies can make in the lives of their patients.

When does the BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama program start?

The 2020 program begins August 2020.

What resources are available for my pharmacy?

Your pharmacy has access to a training video and operational guide on University.

How much does it cost to participate?

Nothing! This program is absolutely free for participating APCI members.

How are my efforts graded?

Adherence will be continuously monitored through PrescribeWellness and validated by claims information with BlueCross BlueShield at the conclusion of the program period.

How do I get reimbursed?

Payment will be issued by APCI through the central pay feature.

How do I identify my BCBSAL Focus Patients?

Click on the PrescribeCare tab at the top of the screen and then click on the Filter button. Click on the Plan tab and click on the Any Program filter option. A drop-down menu will appear – select BCBSAL Focus Patients for a list of patients that are BCBSAL members with one or more of the following disease states: diabetes, hypertension, or hyperlipidemia.
